It's absolutely sweltering today, so after a day of burning my legs in the sun I've taken refuge in the sitting room for a bit of respite. Wine o'clock has officially begun (this is when the euphoria really kicks in), so I'm treating myself to an ice cold rose and devilish garlic prawns.

This lazy day has reminded me of a very refreshing cocktail which I concocted one experimental lock down evening in honour of a friends' birthday. This experiment however, turned out to be a pleasant surprise! I thought I'd share it, for anyone in need of a pick me up. This is a vibrant concoction of sweet and zingy ingredients. Like a cacophony of fireworks exploding in your mouth...
Vivacious Viv:
An Emerald Kimono original
30ml Gin
30ml Curacao
20ml Chambord
20-30ml Brandy (depending on your taste)
60ml Orange Juice
2 Dashes Orange Bitters
Squeeze of Lemon
Shake well with ice and strain into a fun glass!
If you don't have all of the ingredients then don't worry- it's the perfect opportunity to improvise and put your own spin on it!

The old Italian expression, 'La dolcezza di far' niente' seems very appropriate for this post. It simply takes note of the beauty of life, when one has nothing pressing to do.
