This homemade pasta is a revelation! It is so fast to make, I think it took me about 10 minutes from start to finish. It is the perfect way to get children involved in the cooking process, and the best part is... no pasta machine necessary!

Ingredients:

  • Plain Flour (or 00 Flour if you can find it)

  • Water

Method:

  1. Grab a bowl and put a wet cloth under it to keep if from sliding all over the place

  2. Throw some flour into the bowl and add a little bit of water

  3. Mix up with your hands or a spoon (hands are best) until it forms a shiny-ish dough and comes away from the side of the bowl. Add more water if it's too dry and more flour if it's too wet

  4. Flour a work surface or a large board and roll dough out as thinly as you can

  5. Flour the dough yet again, then fold up length ways

  6. Chop the folded dough into thin sections and use your hands to shake about and reveal your tagliatelle strands

  7. Cook for about 2 minutes in well salted boiling water

  8. Drain

To Serve:

If you're really feeling lazy, all you have to do is mix it up with a jar of sauce. I prefer Sacla Pesto- you can't go wrong. Alternatively, mix with my homemade Pesto recipe :)

If my instructions don't make much sense, then watch the master at work in the following video (it's Jamie Oliver again!):
