Argentinian artist Ludmila Sigismondo has been working on her artistic style since childhood, when she would spend time in her father's studio. This artistic upbringing allowed her to experiment with various media and styles and has shaped the individual style and the concepts which make up her art.

Her most recent works play on feminist ideals, particularly her bold semi-nude self-portrait. Reminiscent of the confident female representations of the 20th Century, Self-Portrait celebrates the female form in it's raw elegance. It brings to mind nude representations by British artist Allan Cownie; both artists use fluid lines and detailed shading, to emphasise the beautiful imperfections of the female form.

Sigismondo's pixellated series of work is in stark contrast to the aforementioned image. Her Pixel art intentionally blurs the boundaries between photography and painting. She attempts to emulate the formulation of photographic images, and the vast spectrum of colours which make up a photograph. It makes us think about the intricate technological science which goes into making the images which surround us today.

This is a new concept for the modern age, the result of which are some particularly intriguing and original creations.
